[CES 2011] In addition to bringing its shiny tablets announced last year, ViewSonic has also unveiled its 4-inch Android 2.2 phone (or maybe tablet) known as ViewPad 4 at the event. The device is clearly a smartphone as phone functionality is included but it sees to resemble a tablet more than a smartphone. Viewsonic ViewPad 4 could be a direct competitor to the Dell Streak.
Viewsonic ViewPad 4 offers a 4.1-inch 800 x 480 resolution capacitive touchscreen display, a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM 8255 processor, 2GB of ROM and a 512MB of RAM, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, a G-sensor, a digital compass, web browser, Swype input, two cameras – a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 3-megapixel front-facing camera, as well as a HDMI output.
The new ViewPad 4 is expected to go on sale around mid-year bearing a price tag of $549
