The new Toshiba Libretto W100 is an unique mini computer which is either a Windows dualscreen laptop or a mini-laptop with a virtual keyboard, depending on how one look at it.
Toshiba plans to launch a limited number of its Libretto W100 in the near future, Currently the device is only available for sale in Japan — unless you’re willing to fork over $1400 to order one through Conics, a retailer that specializes in bringing Asian computers out to the West.
The Toshiba Libretto W100 has a pair of 7″ capacitive touchscreen displays with resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. It comes with a 1.2GHz Intel Pentium U5400 processor, 2GB of RAM (DDR3), as well as a 62GB SSD. The laptop supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi, WiMAX, as well as Bluetooth and has a webcam, USB and microSD card slot, and 2 or 4 hour batteries, and weighs only around 1.5 pounds.
One of the most exciting features Toshiba has done with this device is give it a couple different virtual keyboards, letting users to hold it in two hands and type with their thumbs or place it on a tablet and treat it just like a laptop.
The screens could either be used together or separately meaning one web page could span throughout device, or be sequestered on a screen, while the other is filled with other apps or an on-screen keyboard.Find out more about the virtual keyboards in the video below.
