From the lineup of recently introduced Sony Ericsson handsets, the XPERIA X8 is the first device to get a hands on video on the company’s Blog. The video is short, however it’s enough to point out that the UI has elements from both the XPERIA X10 as well as the X10 mini.
With a 3″ HVGA screen, there is a pretty big space for you to work with widgets the way Android does. However the User interface on the XPERIA X8 sticks to the counterpart X10 mini approach to widgets – only one per screen with four shortcuts at the corner of the screen.
Aside from that, the handset screen is also quite big for a portrait on-screen QWERTY keyboard (unlike the counterpart X10 mini, which relied on a virtual alphanumeric keyboard). And despite it isn’t shown in the video below, there is also a landscape QWERTY too on the device.
If you’re interested in finding a few more details on the new Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8, you should check out the hands-on video below.
The video is also pointing out an essential clue – the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X8 will be priced under 200 euro (about 250 US dollars). This low price point will be a good news for a lot of people out there. More details on the X8′s availability and pricing will be emerged soon, so stay tuned for it.
