Sky 3D TV Gets Launch Date of April 3rd

The push for 3D TV is certainly going full force, and therefore finding a news like this isn’t surprising. I’m a bit shocked to know it happening so soon, particularly considering that 3D TVs are not really that common yet, however seemingly Sky considers it’s perfect timing. Even, they’ve got April 3rd fixed for the official revealing of their 3D service, which lines up with a big football match on the same day.

Sky 3D is Europe’s first 3D TV channel, designed specially just for 3D entertainment. That’s the meaning of its all existence, in fact. So what’s got Sky so amped for the next 3D revolution? Football, of course. They’ve got the official launch of the 3D TV service associated with a Barclays Premiere League match ( MU vs Chelsea ). Sky is presenting the service a little bit before April 3rd, therefore customers can add it to their service without extra cost to their already paid-for top channels. They also expect you to get used to the 3D experience, by presenting viewers a number of free preview content.

Fortunately, Sky 3D is compatible with most new 3D TVs, in fact it runs with both “passive” as well as “active” 3D formats. After the official launch, they will boast up an additional 5 matches; which will then be followed up by a number of documentaries, and sports, full range of movies, as well as entertainment pieces. It’s not too bad, as long as they’ve got interesting content to support it. Just keep in mind, you require a 3D TV, plus Sky+ HD service to take advantage of it.
