Seagate Technology has today made official the availability of the Barracuda Green hard drive series. The new Barracuda Green hard drive series features a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface (1.5TB & 2TB) or a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface (1TB, 1.5TB & 2TB) that have lower power consumption and lower halogen components compared to the others.
The new drives work at 5900 RPM and feature 4K sectors plus the SmartAlign technology and comes equipped with 32MB of cache for SATA 3.0 Gbps and 64MB of cache for SATA 6.0 Gbps.
The 1.5TB and 2TB version of SATA 6.0 Gbps Barracuda Green drives are already up for slae with a price tag of €78 and €90.45, respectively.
