Panasonic today made official its ‘smallest and lightest digital interchangeable lens system camera, the LUMIX GF2 (DMC-GF2) camera.The camera features a 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor and can record video at 1920 x 1080/60i.
The GF2 camera is 7% lighter 19% smaller compared to the predecessor, GF1, but it still features an on-board flash as well as a freshly designed Touch Q user interface, a 3-inch (460k dot) touchscreen on the rear. Some features also backed it include the new Touch Q-menu, an internal ‘efficient’ Dust Reduction System, a 23-area focus system, a Face Detection function, ISO range 100 to 6400, as well as an Optical Image Stabilizer.
The LUMIX GF2 expected to ship in January with three color options (silver, red as well as black) and a pair bundle options: a 14mm F2.5 pancake kit or a 14-42mm zoom lens kit. Unfortunately pricing details is still unknown, though it will not be announced until mid-to-late December.
