MSI Released slim Core i5-based P600 and S6000 notebooks


MSI P600 and S6000 notebooks

MSI has rolled out a couple of new slim notebooks in North America. Designed for both business as well as entertainment, the P600 and S6000 laptops are aimed for on-the-go users.

Both, the P600 and S6000 are running a 2.66GHz Intel Core i5-450M processors with Intel GMA HD GPU chipset and 4GB of RAM (DDR3).

The main difference between these two models is the battery: MSI give the P600 model an 8-cell pack and weighs in at 5.3 pounds, while the counterpart S6000 gets a smaller 4-cell battery and weighs in at 5 pounds. MSI reckons the P600 could last for up to 8hrs.

Both of the new MSI slim notebooks have many of the same specs, including:

*15.6-inch HD display (1,366 x 768 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio)
* Windows 7 Premium OS
* Intel GMA HD graphics
* 4GB of DDR3 memory
* 500GB hard drive
* 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
* Dual speakers
* 3-in-1 card reader (SD/SDHC/MMC)
* 1.3-megapixel webcam
* Connectivity: Two USB 2.0 ports, eSATA/USB combo port, HDMI, D-sub, Microphone-in, Headphones-out, RJ-45

The MSI P600 is now available online at sites including Newegg, Amazon, J&R with an MSRP of $729.99, while the counterpart S6000 will be available in stores “soon.” The S6000 is going for $799.99.
