Microsoft: ‘There are No plans for Windows Phone 7 in tablets’

We’ve earlier seen a couple of concept tablets that run Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7, however it doesn’t mean we would notice any such devices soon. At an event in Singapore, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has revealed that Microsoft is focused on using Windows Phone 7 in phones, thus there is no plan for Windows Phone 7 on tablets.

This is exciting news, particularly given HP seems to have get rid of its Windows 7 powered Slate, and is now planning to shift to webOS instead, while most tablet makers out there are choosing Google’s Android OS. Do you think that Windows 7 is great for tablet, particularly when you compare it to its competitors like Android or the iPhone OS, or should Microsoft really consider using Windows Phone 7 on tablet devices?
