Maxell ErgoMotion – Joystick and Mouse functions in a Mouse

Because the issues with RSI claims and pains, most manufacturers are attempting to come up with a better mouse, one of them is Maxell. Well, Maxell would like to alter that with the Maxell ErgoMotion Mouse which is unique and much different than most standard mouse that sits on top of a really short joystick. It also comes with a pair of buttons and a scroll wheel just like standard mice. Instead of moving the mice around in the 2D surfaces like mouse pad, simply tilt the mice to move the cursor. The mice can freely slide on 2D surfaces however that movement doesn’t translate to cursor movement.

Unfortunately, The first hands-on report was far away than the expected. While tilting forward is purportedly just as simple as promised, the fact is tilting forward give too much pressure on the buttons and sometimes lead to accidental clicks. This could be cured with some more time to get used to the new way of using mice, however it could be too much to handle. The Maxell ErgoMotion Mouse is expected hit the market next month, and it will sell for $49. Would you like to buy this mice?
