Maingear today updated its laptop line up with the new ALT-15 and ALT-17 laptops. Both ALT-15 and ALT-17 laptops are based on Intel’s Calpella CPU and feature the same GeForce GT 425M 1GB card with Nvidia’s Optimus graphics switching technology.
The new Maingear laptops come equipped with 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch LED-backlit displays (1920 x 1080 pixels of native resolution), a Intel’s Core i5 or i7 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, a DVD or Blu-ray drive, a 2.0 megapixel webcam, up to 750GB of storage space ( you can choose between HDD, SSD or HHD (hybrid hard drive) ), Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and Bluetooth.
Maingear’s ALT-15 has a base price point of $1,049, while the counterpart ALT-17 has a base price point of $1,099.
