The Google Realtime Search was rolled out back in December 2009 and now it has its own dedicated site and a number of major improvements, which should make it much better. Those tweaks include location-based search refinement, email updates as well as conversations view.
Google Realtime Search helps people get real-time content while tracking for something over at Google. Nevertheless, it isn’t something that you’d need any time you go to Google so the search engine giant company decided to give it a web address – www.google.com/realtime.
On the new homepage we would see a number of great tools to help us refine and understand the results. First, we can use geographic filter to find results based on a specific city, state, or country. So if we’re going to L.A. this summer, we can check out tweets from Angelenos to find much more ideas for activities happening right where we’re.
As for the conversations view, it join together separate tweets into full conversations. As a result, we would be able to easily follow the full conversation.
The last news brought to us by the revamped Google Realtime Search is the Google Alerts. Google Alerts makes it easy to stay informed about a topic of user choosing. Now we can make an alert specifically for “updates” to get an email the moment your topic posted in some of the many blogging, news and social services like Twitter or other short-form services.
