To save people from possible health effects of radioactive isotopes of iodine that can possibly be released, government in Japan has made preparations by delivering tablets of non-radioactive potassium-iodide. This is immediately taken up by the body and it will prevent the take-up of iodine-131 should folks come in contact with it.
Radiation levels have been checked over the Fukushima Daiichi and Daini sites. By 10.00pm today, Tepco said that radiation levels were lower yet stable. The utmost level detected on the 12 March was at 3.29pm when levels attained 1015 microsieverts hourly.
