Sources at multiple well-known retailers (Target, GameStop as well as Future Shop) already marked May 9th as the U.S launch date for the black version of Nintendo Wii, meanwhile, the Canadian launch will follow in the end of May.
The black Wii is akin to the white, the only difference is the color (there won’t be any distinctness when it comes to the gameplay), with a package that includes not only the Wii, a Wii remote and Wii Sports, but also a copy of Wii Sports Resort along with a Wii MotionPlus upgrade for more precise controls. The Black version is reportedly listed at $199.
Another Nintendo’s console (GameCube) and its nintendo ds have been available in a lot of colors, however this will be the first time the Wii gain a vast launch of a non-white color in the North America.
Despite the company hasn’t officially announced the launch date, it looks like we’ll see the black version right soon given there are sources at several retailers and the product has available in another country. The black version itself has been available in Japan about a year ago.
